Round two :) Much thinner and getting much faster. It isn’t very consistent, but I’m just happy I don’t feel so derpy as I try to fumble with the spindle and the roving.

I’ve been counting down the days till I could try out spinning for the first time (couldn’t be overly public about it because I didn’t want anyone to think I was more excited about this than my Brother’s wedding). I finally got to give it a try tonight and I am so stoked. There is a TON of information to soak in about using a drop spindle and choosing roving, but tonight I just put it all aside. You never learn until you actually do. So here it is :) A little thicker than I would have hoped, but over all I am very pleased.

My girls made fantastic V-day boxes this year. I am so proud of them. Ms. Plum’s pirate ship actually won the class contest, and I’m glad it did because she put a lot of planning into that one. Ms. Orange’s monster was just an excuse to use up some of the orange fur Grandma gave her. Sorry they weren’t posted sooner I just finally got around to pulling them off my camera :P
It’s done :) So happy, can’t wait to send it off to my Great Aunt. I hope someone asks me to make another one of these soon. Even though I won’t wear a shawl they are sooooo rewarding to make :)
